What is Fullmetal Alchemist?

Full Metal Alchemist is the story of Edward Elric and his brother Alphonse. After the untimely death of their mother, the two young boys delve into the forbidden realm of human transmutation and attempt to bring her back to life. However, something goes terribly wrong when Edward loses his arm and leg. For Alphonse, the cost is much higher and he loses his entire body. A desperate Edward sacrifices a piece of himself to bind his brother’s soul to a suit of armor. Now the two brothers travel the world, chasing rumors of the Philosopher’s Stone, which Edward believes can restore their bodies.
