Posts: 5 Joined: 26 Jul 2007 | thank you for the suggestion crystalalchemist. I'm certain the fight between Al and barry the butcher (aka. barry the chopper) in suit of armor form is not the episode that I was searching for. Al doesn't even defeat barry the butcher, Scar comes around and stops the fight (episode 21 The Red Glow). Also, Al doesn't transmute his whole suit of armor, seal and all. I think that's key to identifying this scene that I'm looking for. I know that I'm not imagining seeing this. I most likely saw it on Adult Swim/Cartoon Network on Direct TV. This was before I saw the whole series. I really can't remember who he was fighting, but the enemy was winning until he pulled off this full body/armor transmutation. Along with the scene, Al explains a lot about who he is, so maybe this was a PROMO scene or a trailer? PLEASE, help all of you die hard fans. I know someone out there is as passionate about FMA as I am. If you think that I am imagining this, then you probably haven't seen all of the episodes and are rationalizing so that you don't have to go searchings like I am. That would make you the lesser dedicated fan. |

However, are you sure that the scene you're referring to isn't from one of the Fullmetal Alchemist video games? since they often use anime cutscenes. |

The scene was possibly several minutes long, but certainly not a whole episode (I'm thinking ~6 minutes long). Thanks for the serious lead! I haven't seen the recap or DVD extras scene.. oh wait no, I did see the extra scene where the state alchemists fight the homuculi. That was pretty sweet. That one answered my question of where the intro scenes to the episodes came from. Please keep the suggestions coming.

I have seen all of the 51episodes in the TV series and the Conqueror of Shambala, but I remember seeing another fight scene that was missing from the series and movie. The scene was in English and I either saw it online or more likely on one of Direct TV's cartoon channels.
It was Alphonse, as the suit of armor, fighting solo against a powerful enemy. It to take place in a stone castle's room. The room was long an narrow, well lit, but not sunny and they were standing-off against one another across the room. I don't recall but the enemy may have had a sword and was planning to hack Alphonse to bits until he broke his blood seal. He did know about the blood seal and it's effect. I recall Alphonse explaining about being and empty suit of armor.
Alphonse eventually wins the battle by transmuting his whole suit of armor in to something like sand? I'm not clear on the details, but I do know that he completely transmutated and I don't recall, but there was an explanation of how he could do that and keep his soul.
IF you know where this scene comes from, please let me know. You will be the trivia CHAMPION!
